I have been having so much fun creating new Spring wreaths with all of the bright and cheery colors of the season! Here is a peek of what I have been making :-)

Ready for Spring

We are having such mild weather for this time of year. Over the last few weeks it has been so warm that I took advantage of it and started getting our porch ready for Spring. I love to decorate with purples and greens in the Spring. As you can see I used purple geraniums in the grapevine basket and in the grapevine pocket wreath arrangement I used a mixture of purple and green flowers. There is something about those two colors together that gives you a warm inviting feeling. I can't wait to get some fresh flowers to put on the porch too. I definitely have Spring fever !!!

New Blessings !

My family is so very excited...my niece and nephew are expecting their first child in about 1 month. It is the first baby we have had in my family since my youngest son was born 22 years ago. My sister had a baby shower for them and I made the centerpiece arrangements using silk grass and fresh gerber daisies. I love gerber daisies, looking at them just makes you smile ! All of the guests received an arrangement to take home.

Spring News

The weather has been so mild this winter and it has definitely put us in the mood for Spring. Our new merchandise has been arriving daily and we can't wait to share all of our new items. I've also been working on new wreaths and arrangements...lots of bright colors to brighten your home. I love Spring it is always a time of renewal and hope.

Website !

We have totally re-done our website and are very excited about it. It has a whole new look and we can't wait to reveal it to everyone!

2012

A new year has begun and we are looking forward to serving our customers in 2012. We have a lot of plans in the works including a new website and new merchandise. Our Christmas decorations are all packed away for another year and we have begun rearranging the store and preparing for Spring. So look out 2012...here we come !

Christmas in the Village

Waynesville's Christmas in the Village is my favorite event of the year! The weather was perfect all weekend and everyone really seemed to enjoy themselves. Our customers received a special treat as Tom's friend Rene beautifully played guitar for us on Friday evening. We had a special visit from Who Dey the Cincinnati Bengals mascot and the men's quartet entertained us with their wonderful harmony. It was a perfect weekend !!!

1 Year Anniversary

Thank you to everyone who came out over the past weekend to help us celebrate our 1 year anniversary. We are so thankful to each and everyone who has helped to make our business a success. I especially want to thank my husband Tom...I could not do this without him!!!

What's Happening !

Wow I can't believe how long it has been since I have added a new post! I have just been sooo busy with the store and weddings that I haven't had much free time. Here's what's happening at Bella Garden Florals...November 21st is the one-year anniversary of our store opening so on Saturday November 19th we are having a celebration to thank everyone for their support and encouragement. We will have refreshments and a free gift that will be handed out to the first 40 customers. We are looking forward to our second year in business. Thanksgiving weekend we will have extended hours. We will be open from 11:00-7:00 on Friday Nov 25th & Sat Nov 26th. Hopefully that will make shopping more convenient for our customers. The weekend after Thanksgiving is Christmas in the Village. We have a lot of new merchandise arriving daily and we have been working very hard making Christmas wreaths and arrangements. We are here to help you decorate your home and shop for all those special people on your gift list.

Store Re-model !

We have been in our store for 9 months now and we decided we needed to make some changes in order to create more space. Tom worked so hard getting everything moved and into it's new place. He also added latice to the porch and he made a platform for our grapevine trees and baskets to sit on. We are so happy with the new look and already feel it has made a difference in the way our customers can move about in the store. Thank you to my wonderful husband who always works so hard !!!

Barn Quilts

I am so excited about our new Barn Quilts. They are locally handmade and handpainted in Germantown Ohio and can be ordered in different sizes and patterns. What a wonderful addition they make to our store and we are so happy to have them !

Frogs !

Blossom Bucket is a supplier of our miniature figurines and I just love them...especially these frogs ! Aren't they adorable !!!

Old Barns

My Dad was from Sandy Hook Kentucky and I am so blessed to have such wonderful childhood memories of our visits to the farm. It was a longggg 4 hour trip especially for a young girl who was anxious to arrive so she could start running, playing and riding horses. I remember on our trip we would see tons of old barns along the way, especially ones with Mail Pouch Tobacco advertisements on them. So naturally when I saw this print, I knew it was one I would have to carry in our store. It may even need to come home with me :-) I hope this print helps you to re-live some old memories just like it does for me.

New Look !

Ahhh...after 2 years, I thought it was time to make a change. I hope you like the look of our new blog !

Silk Fall Wedding Bouquet

We had several very hot days last week and I promised myself I would not complain about the weather this summer after the long cold winter we had...but I have to admit I was thinking of cooler days ahead. With that said, I thought I would make a silk fall wedding bouquet. I used deep rich colors of purple, orange and red. The berries make a great accent filler and also gives the feeling of fall. Hope you like it !!

Baby Tear Fern

One of our most popular items this Spring & Summer has been our baby tear fern arrangements. I use several styles of pottery type containers and add delicate baby tear fern. Our customers love them !

Wreath and Arrangement Re-Designs

One of the things I like to do is take an old arrangement or wreath and re-design it. I enjoy taking it apart, cleaning it up and adding fresh new flowers. Here is an example of a re-design. One of my customers brought in this awesome blue pitcher but it was in need of some definite cleaning up. I took out the old blue roses and added in new real touch white roses. I added fresh burgundy eucalyptus and new filler flowers. Two totally different looks.

New Soap & Body Butter !

We are so excited about our new soap & body butter ! Tom & I found this company when we went to the Columbus Gift Mart and I fell in love with the scent of the soaps and I loved the way the body butter made my skin feel...sooo I had to place an order :-) Known for it's moisturizing properties, olive oil soap leaves your skin feeling smooth and silky. Olive oil forms protective barriers to help skin hold in moisture. It's great for the entire family ! In making the body butter, shea and cocoa butter are whipped together with natural ingredients such as grape seed and rice bran oils, along with vitamin E and a touch of fragrance. Body Butter is nature's gift for the skin ! With mother's day coming up, they would make wonderful gifts. I may have to give some to myself :-)

I love Easter & Springtime! Everything is blooming and the birds are singing again. It is a time of renewal and reflection. I am so thankful for my risen Lord and Savior ! Bella Garden Florals wishes everyone a wonderful Easter !

I love love love the wild and natural feel that decorating with grapevine gives! This twig wreath is 4' and they even come in larger sizes. I may have to order one for our home !

April 2011

I am totally in awe and amazed by God ! I can't believe how far we have come in the last 2-1/2 years. I started out working from home in our garage designing fresh flowers for weddings to having a store front selling my handmade silk and dried floral arrangements, gifts and home decor. Wow...what a dream come true ! The response I have received from all of my customers has been overwhelming and I am truly thankful !

Grapevine Baskets

I am so excited to share our grapevine baskets! They are going to be so much fun to decorate with! Think how pretty they will look in the Spring filled with potted flowers. Or how about a basket full of pumpkins in the fall. And for Christmas, how festive they will look filled with pine needles and pinecones!

Wine Bottle Candle Holders

We can't keep these in stock ! Our wine bottle candle holders are a unique way to re-use an old bottle and add a bit of candle light too. I just love these !

Spring Wreaths

Wow has it been a long long winter! I am so ready for spring and warmer weather. It will be our first spring in our new home and our first spring at our new store. We are so thankful for spring and new beginnings and the hope that comes with the Easter season. I love making spring wreaths...all of the colors are so cheerful and bright. It makes you feel warm even when it is still cold outside. Here is a sampling of some of our spring florals.

Just love our Four Tealite Candle Lantern. It holds 4 tea candles and can be used indoors or out. It includes a 16" chain for hanging or it can be displayed on a table. What a nice touch for your home, sunroom or porch.

Choose You Day May 12th, 2011

Being a cancer survivor myself, I am inviting you to join the Choose You movement and help yourself and your friends and family to make their health a priority and take the fist step toward cancer prevention. I have signed up to be a team coordinator for "Choose You Day" - a day when we all show our commitment to healthy living by "sneaking up on cancer". To join my team, all you have to do is donate $5 to the American Cancer Society (instructions to follow)and wear your favorite pair of sneakers and Choose You Blue (light blue) on May 12th. It's that simple! Horses !!

For those of you who don't know, I am a horse fanatic!! I have loved horses my whole entire life. I can't remember a time when I wasn't horse crazy. I think they are one of the most beautiful creatures that God has ever created. With that said, it was only natural for me to have an area in my store devoted to horses. My horse section strikes up some wonderful conversations with other horse lovers and it is so much fun getting to meet and talk with them. Here is a sample of what horse items we have available. I'm sure we will be adding more items as time goes along :-)

Happily Ever After !

Wow it is so hard to believe that we are starting our 3rd year of designing flowers for weddings!! I truly enjoyed all of the weddings that I have had the privilege of being involved with over the last few years and appreciate all of the wonderful brides that I had the pleasure of meeting.

Do Unto Others !

We believe that our purpose in life is to serve God and to help one another. We have experienced many trials in our own lives and God has used so many people to be a blessing to us and we would like the opportunity to do the same. "Do Unto Others" will keep you informed on different charities that we are helping with and to give you the opportunity to be involved as well. One charity that is very near and dear to my heart is the American Cancer Society. My father passed away from kidney cancer and I myself am a breast cancer survivor. Our pink "HOPE" candles are one way in which we give back. All proceeds from the sale of our Hope candles are being donated to the American Cancer Society for breast cancer research. We plan on making more donations to ACS for other cancers as well. We are also looking for other charities to donate to throughout the year.
